Introduction
Plaques have been used to mark the death and burial of people since ancient times. They have acted as a memorial and reminder to loved ones, and the society in general, of the life and importance of the deceased. Initially, they were made of timber, but, with the passage of time, materials with greater longevity were used.
Today, while other materials are used, the most common materials used are bronze and granite.
Alternative Use
Our bronze plaques are also ideal for use as signs or in architectural products.
Plaque Construction
Bronze plaques are a recent addition to our range of funerary products, thereby allowing us to supply our customers with a complete range of different, high quality plaque products. Bronze plaques have been added to our range to satisfy those customers who prefer to have traditional bronze plaques.
Using the most modern equipment available, our bronze plaques are cast, painted and then the top surface of the inscription, motifs and border is machined. The machining process highlights the natural bronze colour of the inscription, border and motifs. The background is painted with a high quality, two-pack long-lasting paint, of a colour selected by our customer, prior to the machining operation. When the manufacturing operation is complete, the whole plaque is sealed with a high quality, two pack clear lacquer. This lacquer helps to preserve the bright shiny colour of the natural bronze.
Bronze Plaques are supplied with concealed rear fixing and the overall thickness of a plaque is approximately 6mm.
This style of plaque is available in any square or rectangular size from 102mm x 63mm up to 500mm x 350mm. Should larger sized, bronze plaques be required, please contact us by phone or email to confirm availability and price.
Installing Your Plaque
Plaques can be fixed directly onto the concrete strip of a strip lawn cemetery, a monument, a rock, a stand, a wall, a block headstone or other appropriate surface.
Cemetery Requirements
Various cemeteries have different requirements and limitations on the size of plaques that they allow to be installed on their property. There is no reason why a bronze plaque that we supply cannot be installed in any cemetery or crematorium. Before an order is placed for one of our plaques, these issues should be discussed between our customer and the cemetery to ensure that the needs of all parties are satisfied.
Designing Your Plaque
Each customer has the opportunity to personalize the design and layout of their plaque using the exclusive plaque design section of our
web site.
Within this very simple design system, our customer selects their desired plaque shape, size & border. Our customer then drafts their personalized inscription and transfers it onto their plaque design. Our customer chooses the size and position of their text on their design and may also select one or more bronze motifs from our online library and transfer them to their design.
In addition to the inscription and motifs mentioned above, our customer may also add one or more vitreous enamel(steel), ceramic photos and premium plana overlays to the design, provided space is available on the plaque.

The order will not be processed without that permission.
